Oversee relationships between BNSF and more than 50 shortline railroads which includes: contract administration (amendments and measurements of key performance metrics); facilitate growth and velocity opportunities; manage shortline operational issues while developing long-term mutually beneficial solutions between the shortline railroads and BNSF Railway; educate shortline railroads in BNSF requirements and expectations; raise awareness within BNSF of shortline railroad capabilities; and advise shortline railroads of BNSF’s strategies. Manage cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Operations, Service Design, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Real Estate and Law.

Lead various initiatives focused on the strategic development of BNSF’s franchise, including mergers, acquisitions, creation, or utilization of other transportation service providers to enhance BNSF’s strategic position for profitable revenue growth. Direct the development and implementation of competitive access strategies and other projects which increase or decrease the size and strategic position of BNSF’s rail network. Identified, analyzed, and implemented opportunities for franchise development.

Design, construct, and implement an interactive web application which will combine data from across various departments (Marketing, Finance, Engineering, and Operations), and display it in the context of a graphical network representation. Provide on-line functionality to dynamically display BNSF railway maps at the network, service region, division and railway segment levels with one click drill-down to reports or graphs.
