Responsibilities of the Principal included but are not limited to: * Student Achievement* Implement a high-quality, rigorous, college-preparatory program* Build a positive student culture and oversee discipline issues* Use data to inform practice and drive decision-making and instruction at the school* Lead teachers to deliver exceptional results for all students, including those who are English Learners or have special needs* Staff Development and Evaluation* Plan and implement appropriate professional development for all teachers * Promote a culture of continuously improving teaching practice through classroom observations, modeling, and instructional coaching * Coach, develop and grow leaders, giving opportunities for individuals to develop new skills * Formally supervise and evaluate the school’s Assistant Principals, Business Manager, and a portion of teachers* School Leadership* Model Marshall ISD values and set the standard for professional behavior * Create a data-centered and achievement-oriented school culture * Build relationships with all stakeholders including students, staff, families, members of the district’s central office, and the Marshall community* Interview and select teachers * Actively participate in community and regional activities, helping to ensure the success of all Marshall ISD students* Ensure that the school runs smoothly, efficiently, and on budget
