CurrentOver the last several years my position with the city of Byron has taken many different turns and allowed me to broaden my knowledge and learn many different segments that make up city government. With the economy heading in a better direction we are positioned well for Economic Development and stand to see some significant growth in the next couple years. In late 2013 the council decided to change my job title to Planning and Economic Development Director which really only means my main focus has changed from building and zoning, streets and grant writing, to primarily focusing on the Economic Development interest of the city. I am still able to be involved with those other duties but will have to utilize our contract employees more as the focus becomes retail growth. We are looking for some exciting new projects in 2014 and beyond.
