*Developed and marketed a central Business Intelligence solution to position IT as a strategic partner. Lead a team of five to evaluate and implement the BI technical architecture along with the enterprise data architecture and an effective data governance program. Lead a team of six to incrementally build out this foundation via business value driven projects which will revolutionize how data is managed and information consumed at Federated. This multi-million $ program will deliver a high quality/integrated central warehouse along with performance designed data marts to support analytics across the enterprise (static reports, dashboards, OLAP/ad hoc reporting, data mining and predictive modeling). *Lead team of 8 to problem solve performance issues with the newly implemented claims electronic file application (built on a Service Oriented Architecture with a .NET presentation layer at the center of automated workflow, document management, Cobol/mainframe, Ivory and Java services) . Solutions identified and implemented resulted in reducing mainframe service units from over 250 million per day to below 120 million per day equating to over $750,000 annual savings in mainframe costs. Additional impacts of the solutions included reducing transaction times by over 70% while significantly reducing the load placed on major infrastructure components.*Lead team of 6 to reengineer the intake of claim documents into the newly implemented (and now performance tuned) electronic claim file application. The implemented solution allowed claim handlers to view and approve incoming documents within context while reducing the time spent on handling incoming claims mail by ~50%.

Lead residential construction team through the design and build process of seven custom homes up to $1 million in value. This included managing all aspects of customer relations, sub contractor bids/work, daily scheduling, materials acquisition and all financial matters.

Lead the Fairview Red WingY2K initiative directing the activities of over 40 project managers who were overseeing more than 240 projects with tight deadlines and potentially serious health, financial and legal ramifications. The successful project upgraded software/hardware, tested and documented Y2K verification for key medical devices, billing/administrative systems and infrastructure components of all 10 Fairview Red Wing health organizations.

Lead efforts to complete Y2K certification of the core P&C insurance systems responsible for processing and rating $800 million in annual policies/premiums. Thorough analysis and testing revealed several critical but obscure errors in the infrastructure, which would have caused a two-month delay in policy/claims processing and potentially $150 million in lost premiums.Lead cross-functional team to develop a Self Insured Work Comp program. The project successfully enabled us to attract larger clients generating nearly $9 million in revenues during the first year alone.Completed extensive analysis and coding for critical and complex P&C processing applications in a self directed team environment.
