We competed for and won a 15 year contract to process municipal solid waste. This project is currently waiting local permits and financing. This contract is a highlight in a long line of creating markets from ideas. Never before has Escambia County had the ability to process municipal solid waste. My team and I aggressively pursued the contract based off of solid relationships and fundamental ideas. We are currently interviewing qualified companies to execute this contract to process municipal solid waste with Escambia County.

Founded West Florida Recycling and was quickly awarded 15 year contract to process comingle singe stream curbside recycling.  We grew the initial 35 tons a day to 150 tons per day serving Escambia County, the City of Pensacola, and all of Santa Rosa County. In 2011 a devastating tornado hit Birmingham Alabama. We quickly worked with the City of Birmingham to set up a temporary recycling center to process the tornado debris. We recovered over 94% of the tornado debris and did it more cost effective than the Army Corps of Engineers.  We were honored to present to the House Appropriation Committee on our process for recycling disaster debris late 2011.  In April of 2014 low commodity prices coupled with massive flooding due to defective retention ponds were too much to overcome and we were forced to shut our recycling plants doors.

Founding member of a new concept recycling company that processes municipal solid waste, pulling out all the valuable commodities and keeping them from being buried in a landfill.  We competed for and won our first recycling contract in August of 2008 with Baldwin County for a 20-year contract.  October of 2008 the world economy started to collapse and financing was no longer available for this project and we unable to execute the contract.

Founding member for the global distribution of plastic resins, such as PET, HDPE, LDPE and ABS, utilized in manufacturing plastics bottles and other products, including securing financing partner.Developed contacts to secure vendor contracts with Pepsi, Crystal Geyser, and many others.Coordinated and administered resin from foreign suppliers to US manufacturers, including managing logistics, tracking container ships through port, clearing Customs, pulling containers from port to logistical warehouse, and transferring resin to bulk railcars and trucks for delivery to customers.Managed and coordinated logistics for offshore in China and US.Proudly achieved more than $130M in sales and shipped over 3000 in containers in 18 month period.

Founded Company for the global distribution of food additives and packaging plastics, with an emphasis on artificial sweeteners and PET resins.Was instrumental in introducing foreign plastics resin into the United States.Utilized domestic contacts in introducing aspartame (Nutra Sweet) to Chinese distribution market.Imported aspartame into US market for customers such as Shasta, Faygo, Cott Beverages (Wal-Mart /Sams Choice).Attained source for PET resins utilizing Asian contacts to meet customer requests during worldwide plastics shortage in 1995.Secured contracts for PET resins with Crystal Geyser, Cott Beverages and Ball Plastics, among others.

Directed all sales/marketing operation for a design case showroom to service new home buyers and contractors for the installation of carpet, hardwood, tile and builder upgrades prior to homeowners taking residence in new home.

Founded business establishing new concept in residential construction industry, a showroom designed specifically for new home buyers featuring a complete builder option program, to include upgraded appliances, intercoms, mirrored wardrobe doors, lighting, and flooring – carpet, tile, vinyl and wood.Coordinated and administered program including working with subcontractors to ensure that house was complete with buyer selected options prior to move-in date.Started business with one showroom and grew to include three showrooms, as well as a 20,000sq.ft. installation warehouse and installing 100 – 150 homes per month.Directed all aspects of day-to-day operations, including management of 300 employees.Sold business in 1991.

Responsible for builder/contractor sales of residential lines of carpet in northern California territory.Convinced company owners of viability of manufacturing a commercial carpet line and introduced management to the team that started Design Weave, one of the nation’s leading commercial carpet lines.Within four years transformed $30,000/month territory to one generating more than $9M in annual sales.Tuftex was ultimately purchased by Shaw Industries in the mid-90s.
