Back to Fredericksburg, wonderful facility with long-term staff

- Opened brand new 128 bed Skilled Nursing Facility in Selma Texas.- Hired and trained all Department Head Staff.- Marketed the area to Case Managers.- Heavily involved with the Chamber and City of Selma Mayor, City Manager and other board members.- Worked with the general contractor, Smither's Construction to ensure a safe and attractive community. Passed Life Safety inspection and Health inspection in a timely manner.

ADMINISTRATOR: This 190 bed non-profit nursing facility is located in central San Antonio.Increased staff morale by bonding with "line" staff and Department Heads.Maintained occupancy at 95%, including an average of 30 Medicare and Managed Care residents.Facility was selected as a preferred facility to participate in the Bundled Payment Care Initiative (BPCI).Instrumental in planning the renovation of a 37 bed long-term care unit.Improved CMS facility rating from a 1 star facility to a 3 star facility, and increased the Quality Measures rating from 2 stars to 5 stars.

ADMINISTRATOR: This 170 bed facility was suffering for many years from a "lack of TLC" to both the 40 year old physical plant, and the dedicated long-term staff.*Increased staff morale by working with them, as a team, to improve the physical plant.*Improved the poor reputation of the facility by building good relationships with the health care community.*Replaced retiring and relocating department heads, including the DON, Business Office Manager, Food Service Supervisor and MDS Coordinator.*I personally built an ice cream parlor and a Medicare/Rehabilitation dining room, remodeled a counseling office, and an admission office. I also installed a Movie Theater. These efforts have increased the satisfaction of our residents with their home.*The team and I re-painted the interior and exterior of the building, which is changing the communities view of the facility.*The annual survey was quite an improvement over the prior year, resulting in only 4 minor health tags.

Choose good team leaders, motivate and lead all staff to provide outstanding Long-Term care to elderly clients requiring that care. This has resulted in excellent state/federal survey and financial results.[] Reduced Accounts Receivable to 28 days ADSO.[] Built census. Average census has improved to over 90% annual occupancy.[] Assisted in developing and writing the corporation disaster plan.[] Led a successful hurricane evacuation and return.[] Led facility through a Change of Ownership in 2006.[] I replaced the non-existent, or ineffective clinical and financial tracking systems with methods that have proven their efficacy.[] Developed, and put into practice, a Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement program that has helped to ensure great care for our residents, and good survey results.

Successful administrator at all positions. Survey results were all very good, including one deficiency-free survey. I have led small homes as well as larger facilities at the 100-150 bed levels. At all facilities my strength has been, and continues to be, developing and/or following QA/QI programs. I have earned awards for implementing and showing exceptional results in QA//QI that improved the quality of care and quality of life of the residents that I serve. Another strength is in selecting, training and motivating outstanding leaders to assist me in managing all the facilities that I have led.

Managed all information systems and communication resources for my assigned Air Force Bases. Had major input into the DOD 5 year defense plan. Managed a budget that averaged 8.5 million for resources to effectively outfit my assigned bases with communications, computer equipment and other resources required to accomplish the mission.
