Other assignments involve daily operations: opening and closing the store as needed, confirming receipts and facilitating deposits, and receiving and displaying merchandise.

I was hired in this position to prepare the store for permanent closing. My primary responsibilities included identifying, sorting, and boxing regular priced items in preparation for shipment to other stores. I scanned, and applied shrink wrapping on packed boxes to be placed on pallets, and labeled them as appropriate. Duties also included removing permanent and other store fixtures, loading merchandise on trucks, disposing of trash (to include pallets), and thoroughly cleaning the entire store. The store remained opened to the public during this time. I worked in all areas as needed, with a strong focus on customer service.JANUARY - SEPTEMBER 2009During the Fall of 2008, I was involved in an accident. My left arm and leg were injured with severe fractures to my wrist and knee, leaving me immobile and unable to work. Major surgery was required for both. I remained under Doctor's care for an extended period of time, receiving extensive physical therapy and rehabilitation.

I was responsible for sales and daily operations. I opened and closed the store, delegated responsibilities to other associates (giving them clear direction on what needed to be done), and followed-up on tasks assigned to ensure completion. Promoted superior customer service, and coordinated delivery service as required. Worked diligently to ensure that sales quotas were met. Also responded to alarm calls when needed

During this time, I served as the Team Sports Lead. This was truly a hands-on learning experience. The work was very physical, and much attention was paid to details. I acquired extensive knowledge about different sports, which allowed me to do a better job. 2I also worked as the Fitness Lead. This department was, and is, the backbone of the company in the area of sales. Handling this responsibility was important to me as everything is considered a “Big Ticket Item.” I had a set daily budget that I consistently strived to meet. High performance was considered the norm. I enjoyed this work, and put forth great efforts to meet the challenges.
