Extensive testing was performed to establish the best electrode configuration and electrical power setting. This testing began with bench studies using a blood flow apparatus I designed; followed by in vivo testing. As part of the development, I performed thermal analysis of the tissue during treatment and correlated it to bench test data. Biocompatible materials were selected for areas of patient or blood contact. This device incorporates 45 intricate components which were fully documented with drawings, specifications and BOMs. Assembly methods involved welding, bonding and hand assembly. The braided Nitinol electrode deploys to treat the tissue, then un-deploys for removal. This device was successfully used in multiple pre-clinical tests. I received two patents for my work on this device. Show less
