This position started out as preventative maintenance on Komatsu and Cat haul trucks. Steep Bank Mine Complex

This position entails managing 3 distinct areas. The first is a component shop where major components are planned to be replaced and are completed by an elite group of guys that can be described as a haul truck pit crew. The second is the steambays that wash the haul trucks to get them ready for any repairs in the shop. The people working in this shop are normally processed through to trades. It is a very transient shop and the working conditions keep them motivated to move ahead. The last… Show more This position entails managing 3 distinct areas. The first is a component shop where major components are planned to be replaced and are completed by an elite group of guys that can be described as a haul truck pit crew. The second is the steambays that wash the haul trucks to get them ready for any repairs in the shop. The people working in this shop are normally processed through to trades. It is a very transient shop and the working conditions keep them motivated to move ahead. The last segment of this department is the tire bays which in itself is broken down into 3 areas: Haul truck tire replacement, field haul truck tire triage and light vehicle tire repair/replacement. I work with a crew of 15 HET's performing emergency repairs on 120 haul trucks in an active mine site. We work in adverse conditions 24/7 to make sure they stay running and productive.

I helped create a "New Equipment Prep" dept that went from building 1 797 CAT haul truck every 90 days to 1 every 18 days. I was in charge of a crew of 85 over 3 different locations. In one year we built 175 haul trucks.
