Larry, an experienced executive with expertise in funeral, cemetery and crematory services dating back to 1989, possesses a deep passion for his profession and a determined commitment to enhancing and expanding businesses. He excels in Operations Management, Sales Leadership, Coaching, Negotiations and Team Building. As a licensed funeral director, embalmer, cemetery and crematory manager, Larry graduated with honors, cum laude, from California Lutheran University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. Additionally, he earned a Certificate of Mortuary Science with honors from Cypress College in Cypress, California. Among many of his accomplishments, Larry was past President and Board Member of the Gold Coast Funeral Directors Association in California, past Member and Board Member of the Triunfo YMCA in California, Rotary International, and the American Diabetes Association of Chicago. He was a panelist for the Hospice Foundation of America Teleconference: “Leaving Legacies: Spiritual Meaning-Making at the End of Life”. He presented on the section, “Therapies, Living Eulogies and Other Meaning-Making Approaches”. Larry was named the Young Funeral Director of the Year for the state of California by the California Funeral Directors Association for 1999-2000. He received the 1999-2000 YMCA Distinguished Volunteer of the Year Award. Rotary International awarded him with the Paul Harris Fellow Award in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world. He was also awarded the Good Rotarian Award and Outstanding Service Award for contributions to the 2001-2002 Rotary year. Larry was recognized by the Ventura County, California Board of Supervisors with a Resolution for Service to the Community and a Commendation Certificate for his leadership and guidance of the repatriation of the 88 passengers and crew lost from the crash of Alaska Airlines in 2000. In 2009, Larry received the American Diabetes Association, Chicago Chapter Volunteer of Distinction Award. Larry served as a leader with the Ceremonial Funeral Detail Team, providing services as Funeral Director to high profile clients such as President Ronald Reagan, President Gerald R. Ford, Senator Ted Kennedy, First Lady Nancy Reagan, First Lady Betty Ford, Vice Admiral James Stockdale, and other notables. Married to Julie, he is the father of five residing in Detroit’s northern suburbs.
