After successful launch of our initial IoT solutions for public safety devices, I continue to provide oversight and leadership in the ongoing extensions to the IoT based services. But, the primary focus is now toward the development of a completely cloud native device management solution to transition from an existing monolithic software solution into a flexible, horizontally scalable cloud platform providing software and configuration management for large customer fleets of devices. My role as the lead software architect role involves technical oversight for the work of a large development team located in the US and abroad. Responsible for platform architecture, design and development. Key innovator and engineering representative for the UX design of new user interface. Technologies include Angular, Typescript, Azure Cloud Services, .Net/C# Microservices, Kubernetes and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.

Cloud Architect responsible for the IoT solution provided for public safety devices managed from the cloud. Leverage Azure IoT services to provide registration, configuration, and telemetry event ingest for the Motorola Solutions land mobile radio devices. Design and management of data lake storage of IoT telemetry to support business analytics as well as customer insights into the operation of their fleet of devices. 4 9's availability location service for configuring location policy in devices and receiving and routing location updates from the fleet to cloud applications. The solution is server-less implementing value-added components include web server using Azure Functions. Other technologies include Azure IoT, CosmosDB, EventHub, DataLake, javascript, react.

As the industry shifted toward a larger emphasis on data communication and mobile applications there was a business growth opportunity to expand public safety solutions. I chose to be a part of leading the growth in this area and returned my primary focus on software development rather than systems architecture and design. In the past 2 years I have directly led a team of 12 developers and provided technical leadership to over 40 engineers in 3 teams. The experience in this project have exhilarated me and confirmed my career path toward software development and leadership. My career progressed as a system and solution architect participating in the architecture leadership team for our public safety networks. I was primarily responsible for overall network management system architecture but participated in leadership and innovation for all areas of the system solution. I played a key role in the innovation program that encouraged and coordinated "hackathon-like" projects to demonstrate the art of the possible to stimulate new business ideas. While operating as a system architect I continued to have a passion for software development and always had side projects to keep current with the latest technologies and better relate to and guide the software development teams. Due to my software expertise, problem-solving and leadership skills i was used on short-term assignments to lead business-critical software projects.

For most of my career I have been involved in the evolution of public safety communication systems from city and county wide voice communication system to the current country wide voice and data systems available today. I worked on network management and dispatch solutions for public safety systems as a developer, team leader, product architect and have been the chief architect responsible for network management products for over 200 engineers.
