All companies – large or small – sometimes need help created by short schedules, unavailable skills or technology, and limited resources. Whether for the company needing help or the one with a contribution to offer, I can facilitate a working connection. With over 40 years in high-tech, I know the landscape and its players.In the first half of my career, I was hands-on in with roles in engineering, marketing, business development, and general management including CEO of a couple of venture-funded startups. As the GM of the Heathkit Computer Products Group, I helped launch the Personal Computer revolution. At Atari, I led the engineering team that developed the first Home Computer. I was a member of the team that developed the first PDA, the Convergent Technologies WorkSlate. As the CEO of Infa, I led the creation of the first tablet computer. As VP of Marketing at Xircom, I led product management, product marketing, advertising, and PR for the company that developed the first network products for laptops including Wi-Fi.Now in the second half of my career, I am focused on business development where I leverage by broad technology skills and large Rolodex of contacts. In 1994, I launched a business development firm with clients that included Cisco, Hitachi, Proxim, Netopia, Virata, Cosine Communications, and many more. My contribution directly supported successful IPO’s by Virata and Cosine. In 2001, I joined Netopia - a prior consulting client - to run business development for them. The final project for Netopia was getting them acquired by Motorola. Following the acquisition, I transitioned to the same business development role for Motorola.In a bit of a circle, I am restarting my business development consulting practice and actively seeking clients – large or small, needing help or having capacity. My compensation interests are highly flexible with greater interest in leverage including performance bonuses and equity.

Checked off bucket list. Most fun was taking extended family to Sydney for 2000 Olympics. Flew lots of airplanes and helicopters more than 4,000 hours.

Led the development of the first Wi-Fi networking products.

Founded a company to develop a family of networking appliances.

Led the creation of the first hand writing recognition tablet.

Member of the team the developed the first PDA (personal digital assistant) - Workslate. Later led corporate marketing and business development for an OEM provider of PC technology to other computer companies including Burroughs, Univac, NCR, CDC, and Honeywell (BUNCH).

Led the the development of the world's first home computer that combined Atari's video games with personal computing.

Led the development of some of the first personal computers - what we then called microcomputers.

Founded and led a contract engineering company that developed video products for TV broadcasters and cable TV operators.
