Senior Development Manager - Brokerage MARGIN/ASSET/RISK Systems, Boston, MA-FBT (1999–2008)Managed a team of developers in maintaining and developing brokerage systems on a mainframe platform. Responsible for detailed project management, systems analysis, and development of a multi-million dollar complex initiative for our business partners within Institutional Products Group.• Designed, developed, and implemented a system to automatically identify day traders, calculate and issue day trade calls and day trade minimum equity calls, and track calls for margin department. This resulted in an automated process which increased revenue for the company on a more timely basis. • Analyzed and implemented change to Fidelity brokerage systems to process mutual fund accounts previously processed on an older Fidelity mutual fund only system. This allowed the company to eliminate the older system. This resulted in significant cost savings.• Developed a system to report call information, short interest, unsecured debt and brokerage accounts with positions or credit balances to NASD. This was a new requirement for NASD and this effort allowed Fidelity to meet the new requirement in a timely and cost effective manner.• Managed a team of systems analysts, business analysts and programmers in support of the Fidelity brokerage Margin/Asset/Risk systems on an ongoing basis. This provided timely and cost effective modifications to the Fidelity brokerage mainframe system and kept the Fidelity system current with application and industry requirements.

Managed and participated in all enhancement and support activity for a NY based insurance company on an AS/400 all lines insurance processing system in a processing services environment. Led project team of 6 consultants to enhance the ISI Massachusetts Automobile Insurance Processing System to accommodate new regulatory requirements and to accommodate enhancement requests from customer base of approximately 30 insurance companies on an IBM mainframe system.• Wrote business requirements, designed, wrote specifications for, and managed programming activity by offshore developers of a claims deductible recovery processing and tracking system which was a major enhancement to the WINS insurance system that effectively enhanced the business’ claim processing effort at a significantly reduced cost.

Designed and developed a data warehousing system which extracts data from the legacy mainframe systems and downloads data to SYBASE relational database. The data is accessed by end users using a Windows based product, Intelligent Query.• Designed a SYBASE database for collecting policy, premium, claims, driver, vehicle, and policy discount data for data warehousing system. The data was used by the company accountants and statistical staff to more accurately determine profit and loss information and was used to statistically derive accurate and profitable rates for the company products. Managed the programming and installation of the data warehousing system, and led development of quality assurance data for system testing.

Project Manager and Technical Consultant - Development, Support, and ImplementationDeveloped and implemented an all lines full function insurance system for domestic and foreign companies on AS/400, WANG and HP systems. Interfaced the AS/400 system with LAN based PC front end systems• Analyzed business and functional requirements, designed databases, wrote specifications, and led programming and implementation of policy issuance, claims, premium receivables, reinsurance, and accounting (general ledger) subsystems. This suite of systems was marketed by a company owned by AIG and was subsequently adopted by AIG for its offices in multiple country sites after acquiring the development company.• Implemented and supported the insurance processing system in 6 AIG sites worldwide. This effort included interfacing with project managers from the technology areas, business sponsors, technology partners, and project stakeholders in each site. This provided AIG with a common processing base and reporting in its multiple sites.• Wrote multi-currency position paper defining the standard for processing multi-currency transactions in all AIG sites worldwide. This was reviewed and approved by AIG accountants worldwide and provide common functionality for all AIG systems. This effort included systems design, development and implementation.
