Responsible for the complete manufacturing / engineering efforts of three separate business sectors. RTV silicone adhesives and caulks, Silicone soap grease and compounds, PVC closed-cell foam production in an ISO/QS organization. Responsibilities include all production, engineering, shipping & receiving, inventories, P&L reporting, purchasing, site maintenance, and complete staffing of over 115 individuals and all day-to-day activities.My main areas of focus have been to build lean production processes and to stabilize/grow/develop the manufacturing staff. During my tenure we doubled Silicone Grease production capacity by modifying the process which has further improved quality and consistency and reduced costs by 27%. I have also championed the efforts to grow the PVC foam manufacturing efforts to increase returns by 40%. The site is now fully EPA compliant and has experienced a substantial improvement in OSHA recordables as well as safety awareness among production staff (zero recordables for 2002, 2003, & 2005).Initially the company was very compartmentalized among the three business sectors, we have worked to form a skilled and cross trained staff to pull the organization together into an exceptional manufacturing team.

Responsibilities covered three plants: Elyria, Ohio - Reaction Injection Molding facility (thermoset manufacturing), DCPD Monomer plant in Kentucky and our support tolling activities in Arkansas. This business was spun off from the BFGoodrich organization to a private concern (Cymetech). I lead the transition of the manufacturing segment, working to place talent in needed areas to ensure the success of the transition and to fully document all process activities for the new organization. We focused on keeping the manufacturing team together through times of difficult and extensive change.

Worked directly with staff scientists on microwave communications research. Directed and managed projects to ensure proper and efficient completion. Documented and provided accurate log and project records to senior R&D management. Many of the areas of R&D are now in use in cellular communications. I was lucky to be involved in many control projects that would help in my following efforts. Responsible for lab and project work flow and reports to senior staff.
