Managed all Legal and Compliance support for Emulate, a Venture Capital backed life sciences company that is commercializing innovative Organ-on-chip technology for the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Supported the People team as manager for the VP of People and executive sponsor of the DEI task force.Emulate creates living platforms that emulate the complexities of human biology to enable unprecedented insights into human biology and health. Member of the senior leadership team heading the legal function of Medtronic’s second largest business, the Minimally Invasive Therapies Group ($9B in revenue). Served as Chief of Staff to the Group President, supporting the development of business strategy and coordinating senior leadership team and Operating Committee meetings focused on driving governance in alignment with strategic priorities. Oversaw all legal support to the business, including M&A, Intellectual Property, commercial and contracting work, FDA, and regulatory and litigation. Advise business leadership on complex M&A, IP, and litigation issues. • Advised group leadership on presentations to the Board of Directors and Executive Committee and personally presented to executive leadership and the Board at governance meetings.• Served as Operational Separation leader for the $6B divestiture of the Patient Care business.• Led the integration of the Covidien legal team into the Medtronic global legal team following acquisition.• Headed the Medtronic Global Legal and Compliance function’s Enterprise Excellence and Organization Design project to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the legal function.• Managed the Healthcare Economics and Reimbursement Policy team, a business function designed to enable strategy around reimbursement, commercialization, and market development.• Executive Sponsor of Culture Circles, an innovative culture and employee engagement project.• Served as member of the Board of Directors of the Medtronic Political Action Committee. • Selected member of the Medtronic Officers Group comprised of top senior leadership.

Managed a team overseeing complex patent and products liability litigation. Advised business leaders on alignment of Intellectual Property activities with business strategic priorities to drive effective decisions related to investments and commercial and litigation strategy. Organized and managed Covidien’s first international legal team in connection with the company’s spin-off as a separate public company, supporting all Covidien businesses. Managed attorneys in four regions (EMEA, AsiaPac, Japan and the Americas) supporting all the company’s global business units and international manufacturing and logistics operations. Directed the Trade Compliance Team, including import and export compliance. Managed corporate governance and board meetings for company subsidiaries in Switzerland and Luxembourg. • Devised innovative solutions to complex compliance challenges in collaboration with business leaders with focus on managing risks in a practical manner, including product registrations and FCPA compliance.• Participated in developing and executing Emerging Markets growth strategy, including the expansion of commercial, manufacturing and R&D activities and tailored compliance procedures.• Served as legal function leader on the spinoff-readiness project to prepare Covidien to operate as a separate company, designing recommendations on org design for the Legal function of a new public company positioned for growth.

Coordinated corporate level legal support including acquisitions, customer agreements, and purchasing agreements. Advised the business on compliance issues including Anti-kickback and False Claims Act, Antitrust and Competition Law issues, FDA matters, global trade compliance, and FCPA compliance.

Provided general corporate and commercial support to the Kendall and Retail medical devices and supplies businesses within Tyco Healthcare, the health care and medical products division of a global conglomerate. Coordinated corporate level legal support including mergers and acquisitions, customer agreements and purchasing agreements. - Advised the business on compliance issues including US Anti-kickback and False Claims Act risks and Antitrust issues
