Following its successful modernization, I have returned to Operations and Maintenance support for the DHSTIER system. I supported the system's move from aging dedicated blade servers to a VM environment. Concurrently, I supported the cut over from the older DHSTIER system to the newly modernized version, migrated the associated database from Oracle 11g to 18c, and migrated the server OS from Microsoft Windows Server 2008 to 2016. I continue to be the sole technical contractor for DHSTIER, acting as the primary Oracle DBA, providing Operations and Maintenance support for the system, fulfilling change orders as needed, and providing any system administration needed. Most work is performed in PL\SQL, Java, and Angular.

In addition to working full-time on Aspex's DHSTIER contract, I worked part-time in a supervisory role on Aspex's SWARWeb and AEWRS contracts. The contract is to modernize the system, converting it to use Angular on the front-end and Spring Boot on the back-end and, later, to integrate the system with another existing system. In my role, I mentor other Aspex employees on using best practices in Angular and Spring Boot, providing guidance through tutorials, Q&A sessions, and code reviews. When time permits I also rewrite portions of the system.

I was the sole full-time resource working on Aspex's contract to overhaul the DHSTIER system. The system was re-written from a mod_plsql system, with the entire code base in PL\SQL, a single Java servlet, and Oracle Database stored procedures and functions. The new system is a modern web application built using micro-service architecture. The core stack is Dropwizard, Angular, Weld CDI, Hibernate, and an Oracle Database. The system modernization was completed on-time and on-budget.

I worked on Aspex's contract for the DHSTIER system, the financial system of record for DHS's Office of the CFO (OCFO). DHSTIER is used by OCFO and the CFO offices of all of DHS's components.
