As enterprises have matured their IT investments in Cloud, those with industrial or manufacturing operations must now prepare to transform their OT tools and processes. Top of mind are dealing with a deluge of OT data, how to leverage AI+ML to improve operational processes or efficiencies, and integrating a deluge of Digital Twin offerings into the mix. They can rely on the experiences gained while building Big Data platforms, but must keep in mind the critical operational controls, human safety, cybersecurity concerns, and the very real-time nature of the OT environment. I work with clients in the Energy and Manufacturing sectors face these challenges and are seeking to propel their businesses forward with ground-breaking changes in how they manufacture their products of the future. I run the Engineering Practice within Accenture's Microsoft Business Group, where we seed deep architecture, engineering, and delivery skills focused exclusively on the Microsoft platform into our client work across the globe. We partner with client account teams, global technology and delivery practices, industry and consulting practitioners, and Avanade to tackle the most challenging situations our clients can envision. This team is truly the 'tip of the spear' for the 52,000 professionals that comprise the Accenture Microsoft Business Group. In addition to running the team, I keep my skills sharp by working with select clients in the Energy, Utilities, and Chemicals sectors to implement industrial and commercial IOT solutions at scale and enable enterprise data platforms that are usable and produce real-world business value.IMPACT: revenues increased over 40%, team chargeability and impact ratings above target, multiple high-risk opportunities shaped and/or delivered without incident

I work with our Resources clients to realize gain competitive differentiation and advantage through technology. Functioning as an innovation lead and technical architect, I support our internal client teams and their clients from envisioning from service/product design through technology delivery. My clients are working through digital transformation from an internal IT perspective but wanting to transform or grow their business through digital efforts with the clients and suppliers. My role is to help them envision the possibilities and plan how to pivot their business quickly to capitalize on the fundamental technology shifts occurring around them. During this time I also held my first client executive role, supporting the digital transformation of a 100-year-old chemicals company from selling chemicals by the pound to selling technology-supported services and results in their effort to make the world cleaner, safer, and healthier.IMPACT: published Accenture’s perspective on the future of processor technologies and the impact of specialized processors

I am responsible for the growth and success of the Azure business across Accenture on a global basis. As an emerging technology, Cloud is enabling our clients to achieve more with technology than ever before; they adopt more, pivot faster, scale success with ease, and leave failure behind more quickly. However, these advancements are stressing the traditional IT practices and transferring increasing power from IT leadership to business decision-makers. I help companies in the midst of and of transition define their Cloud strategy to ensure that the benefits of this rising technology are achievable without the loss of best practices and standard controls that exist to ensure business continuity. As a strategic technology architect, I advise on how to build for today with an eye toward tomorrow.IMPACT: negotiated the first-of-its-kind Azure resale agreement, led 1300% growth in Azure-related revenues, established Accenture’s cloud platform and practice, published multiple point of view on the impacts of and how to adopt cloud technologies

I launched the Avanade Innovation and Incubation team, building on and incorporating my experiences with the Solutions Showcase and my background in building new Avanade capabilities for Integration and Cloud to expand Avanade's technology innovation and demonstration capability with a focus on how we develop our own business practices and promote them through the innovation and incubation lifecycle.IMPACT: launched 3 new lines of business, developed a pipeline of 5 additional business opportunities, continued the operation and grew the Solutions Showcase having now briefed over 1,000 clients, designed and implemented a system for local briefing and demonstration capabilities around the world

After six months of research, my recommendations (a practice to focus on Cloud Infrastructure, another for Cloud Services, and a third for Cloud Applications) were implemented and have survived through today. I was then assigned continued to form and lead the Cloud Applications practice, which has now consumed its predecessor, the Custom Applications practice.. The three Cloud practices now represent 3 of the 4 largest revenue centers within Avanade, a multi-billion-dollar business.

I formed the Solutions Showcase, a joint entity funded and overseen by Accenture, Microsoft, and Avanade executives with the purpose of creating a technology-led experience focused on demonstrating the art of the possible. Hosted in Microsoft's Executive Briefing Center, the Showcase brings the newest forward-looking technology to reality, alongside the most innovative solutions delivered to our customers, to create an environment that promotes more forward-looking thinking about technology as a differentiator and the Accenture and Avanade perspective on the adoption of leading edge technology. The Solutions Showcase is the single private collaboration/information sharing space for Accenture, Avanade and Microsoft employees.IMPACT; the Showcase continues to operate today, serving 16,000 active users across the companies
