System specification, design and development of software for video system interfacing, primarily in C with some C++ and Assembler. Design and coding projects included a redundant mission critical real time machine control system, a third party machine controller using TCP/IP over Ethernet and RS-422 serial control, and PID controllers. Lead engineer of project during UL, FCC, and EMC testing. Provided in-house support of legacy systems and network. Projects included kernel-level device drivers in FreeBSD UNIX. Also produced custom systems under Windows. Extensive embedded software development experience.

Managed a team of thirteen software engineers in the development of new video and graphics-based training systems. Successfully delivered systems that had failed customer acceptance testing prior to my arrival at the company. Managed the development of large custom and semi-custom systems through all phases of product development.

Wrote software in C in a UNIX environment in the development of a computer controlled digital video color corrector for the professional video market. Real time machine control utilizing RS-422 and RS-232 machine-specific serial protocols, as well as direct parallel interfacing. Also responsible for managing software and hardware engineers, and managing the CAD department for schematic capture and printed circuit board layout. Responsible for all engineering-related manufacturing issues.

Wrote software for an Ethernet environment using TCP/IP, proprietary, and custom protocols to control machines in real time applications.
