In this position I was in charge of releasing new products and features from Engineering to the rest of the company. This was done by meeting with department heads from Manufacturing, QC, Field Service and Sales to talk about projects in process and the creation of Spec Sheets.

Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, I lead a group of Mechanical Engineers in defining, designing, implementing, and supporting Pressco's main product line of machine vision based capital equipment for the food and beverage industry. My group and I work closely with Sales and Manufacturing to give our customers a world class experience. In addition, I run a multi-discipline group, Customer Support Engineering, made up of a Mechanical Engineer, an Electrical Engineer and a Software Engineer that work on special order systems. When manufacturing costs were under control, I returned full time to the Group Leader position. Although I had been focusing on the manufacturing issues during those 6 month, I was still active in the M.E. Department.

Manufacturing costs were high with the release of a new product line since manufacturing processes, quality of incoming parts and system testing had not been optimized. I was asked to help out with this task, which resulted in significant drops in labor time, increases in quality and reduction in shipping time. During this time, I was still active with the M.E. Department.

I was placed in charge of a group of five Mechanical Engineering resources as a day to day supervisor. I was in charge of making sure work was being done and assisting in brainstorming sessions for both design and manufacturing processes.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, I continued my same duties as an M.E. but also assumed the roll of CAD Administrator.

As a Mechanical Engineer I was responsible for new product design and maintaining/updating present product design as well as, ordering and assembling parts for prototype machines, testing, evaluating data and making recommendations for improvements. This involved using CAD (SolidWorks 97-2018, AutoCAD13) and miscellaneous Windows applications to rework a design and maintain documentation. As well as writing custom VB programs to standardize and streamline the design processes.
