I have taught for over twenty years at the college and university levels, was awarded Emeritus Professor status at Arizona State University and was selected to serve as a recent Barrett, The Honors College, Emeritus Fellow. I currently serve on the Editorial Board (research) and the Advisory Board, Diversity in Organizations, Communities & Nations and frequently present a variety of short courses for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute as well as workshops for private and public sector organizational development functions. Further, I am a keynote speaker at large meetings, conferences and conventions on DEI, Communication, Education, Leadership, and working with individuals in the workplace who are (dis)differently-abled.I have been a practitioner of Servant Leadership (serving multiple nonprofit organizations) and a teacher/trainer of Leadership, Public/Presentations, Gender Fluidity and Communication, Intercultural/Cross-cultural Communication, and Training and Development for two decades. I was humbled to have also been honored with two Outstanding Faculty/Teaching Awards and named a Robert B. Rutherford, Jr. Memorial Fellow for my work directly with learners with behavioral/learning issues and a Dessie E. Larsen Fellow for my Human Communication work. Additionally, I previously served as Director, Education Leadership Innovation for the Global Listening Centre and have sat on the Executive Board of ASURA. My book, “Intersectionality: An Arts-based Approach to Student Awareness” was published in 2023 (Kendall Hunt Publishing) and I am currently writing a new book on gender issues in the workplace (Cognella).I am quite fortunate that my calendar for 2025-2026 is filling with bookings to speak for private and public sector organizations of various sizes. My most popular presentation to-date is on how organizations can better work with employees who experience invisible disabilities.
