Worked in the information technology industry since 1981 in a variety of positions on mission-critical projects involving innovative software development, complex database design, advanced performance tuning, and deployment of enterprise applications. Began information technology career in the Washington, D.C., area writing and maintaining statistical analysis programs for research publications using programming languages such as VSAM COBOL, SAS, and TPL. In 1986, joined a project to write a custom logistics system for the National Security Agency (NSA) using Oracle versions 4 and 5. Joined Oracle Corporation in September 1988 as a Sr. Consultant in the Mid-Atlantic Consulting group. Left Oracle in January 1990 to work as a technical analyst and programmer for Capital One Credit Cards (Signet Bank Credit Card Division in Richmond, VA). Returned to work for Oracle Corporation in January 1991 as a Sr. Technical Consultant in the Mid-Atlantic Region and was promoted to Consulting Practice Manager for Oracle Consulting in Cincinnati, Ohio in September, 1993. Built the technical consulting practice in Cincinnati to a staff of 25 technical consultants responsible for installing Oracle software, writing custom extensions for the Oracle E-Business Suite, developing custom systems, building and configuring data warehouses, and conducting advanced performance tuning for several large Oracle customers across the Ohio Valley region. In November 1998, left Oracle Corporation to begin working as an independent consultant assisting Gaylord Entertainment in Nashville with implementing, customizing, and upgrading Oracle E-Business Suite. Assisted McGraw Hill with a CRM conversion in January 2003. In February 2004, began assisting Memphis Light Gas and Water, Memphis TN, implement, customize, and upgrade Oracle E- Business Suite. Trained and mentored system administrators, database administrators, programming staff, and managers on Oracle database and development tools, monitoring and improving system performance, planning and hiring technical staff, implementing software development standards, standardizing change management, and writing procedural documentation.
