Currently updating a test and calibration application for manufacturing. Involves incorporating a C++ com library into a C# framework and the use of datasets to provide storage options to both xml files and a back-end database. New architecture designed to allow for future extension for additional medical instruments.Utilizing knowledge of Dialysis instruments to assist in both systems engineering and validation/verification. Analyzing software requirements for clarity and completeness. Providing input for improved coverage of test protocols.

Managed design and development of Personal Data Key (PDK) module on the Navia dialysis instrument* Led move forward from binary data format to utilization of XML. Developed the interface, expanding information available to the clinical software system. Provided a foundation for similar development on two additional instruments.* Managed 4 contractors in the implementation for the PDK.* Designed therapy configuration module to combine common functionality needed for PDK with requirements for manual settings input on the instrument, allowing streamlined development and testing. Substantial involvement on the development of Arena dialysis instrument * Implemented new user interface and patient prescription data card functionality.* Provided significant support for two minor releases. * Generated requirements and design documentation in compliance with FDA guidelines.* Supported sales and service as well as providing technical support for third party software development of interfaces to the instrument.

Provided analysis, design and development expertise for Arthur Andersen’s KnowledgeSpaceSM web site. * Designed triggers for existing user subscription tables, allowing automated security administration on Windows NT and Lotus Domino servers. * Managed user security conversion during a major system upgrade. The upgrade was completed on time and with no problems* Designed database modifications, including tables, triggers, and stored procedures, and PowerBuilder applets to populate multiple mailing lists on a ListServ, mass mailings server. Project completed on time, allowing subscribers to receive requested newsletters.

Worked on a small team (<5) to produce a Windows based clinical information system that incorporated multi-user client server design, centered on a relational database server. Renal Link was nominated for the 1997 Computerworld Smithsonian awards for Innovation in the Arts and Sciences.* Interviewed medical professionals, collected clinical data requirements, and designed a database capable of meeting all the customer needs. Additional database administration duties included documentation of the database and assisting other programmers with the formulation of efficient SQL queries.* Designed and implemented a communications server to collect real-time information from dialysis instruments during patient treatment.* Contributed significantly to the high level design of the user interface and program flow of control. Completed over 30 screens providing data input and review for the user.

* Designed and developed a specialized line of zone controls to be used in laboratory and hospital situations that required strict maintenance of room air pressurization and temperature control.* Produced several communications interfaces from third party controls companies to our controller network.* Designed and implemented a datalogging and alarm recording module for the network of zone controllers. Alarms were programmable by the customer and could provide dry contact activation as well as a printed record of alarm occurrences.
