Serving as Reactor Controls Division Officer for the number two reactor plant, supervised removal of primary plant instruments and nuclear instruments for refurbishing and subsequent reinstallation and alignment during a year-long maintenance availability. Selected for multiple complex and unusual maintenance and testing procedures. As Maintenance Support Center Officer, improved material condition and procedural compliance of the division from a failing grade to a near-perfect grade during COMNAVAIRPAC 3M inspection, contributing significantly to Nimitz receiving the highest grade in AIRPAC history. Worked as liaison between Maintenance Support Center and Reactor Department to begin the process of verifying reactor and steam plant configuration in preparation for complex overhaul.
