Matching volunteers skills to the task necessary to help homeowners clean out and repair their homes from the damage caused by the September flood. Doing estimates as to the cost of materials to repair homes and supplying to FEMA to get the funds necessary to do the repairs. Also making sure the materials and supplies are on site before the volunteers arrive.

I designed tooling and manufacturing procedures which allowed Ice Energy to improve the manufacturing rate from one unit per day to 10 units per day. This was done by modifying a standard spring winding machine to wind the copper coils for the heat exchanger and building a special automated brazing machine that was used to assemble the heat exchanger.

Helped redesign a cell sorting machine to reduce the manufacturing cost by $300 per machine. Designed tooling to be used in the manufacturing of the cell sorting machine.

Designed tooling and assembly processes to build scroll air compressor which helped increase the production rate by 50% while cutting the reject rate by over 80%. This mainly was tooling to go into presses to build up sub-assemblies and to press the two halves together while maintaining the tight tolerances in order to make the compressor function properly.

Designed and built test equipment to be used in production of equipment for the cell phone industry. Developed the material specifications and finishes needed for the fabricated parts used in the cell phone test stations. Designed and built equipment to assemble a photo scanner also supported production line in US and Singapore. I designed an interactive machine that saved as much as 59 minutes of production time per scanner in the optical alignment process and was 30% under budget. The machine was replicated for use in the US and Singapore, received stock option award for the design.

Designed riflescopes and the equipment to manufacture the rifle scopes and mounting hardware. I designed an automated machine which was used to produce the rings used to mount the scopes onto the guns. This machine replaced five machines and operators reducing the cost of each ring by about $1.00.
