Navigating Our Future (navigatingourfuture.org) was launched in 2003 around a whole community systems change vision creating projects that develop ways for community residents to meaningfully participate in whole-systems societal design that encourages and nurtures the healthy evolution of our economic, social, environmental and political systems at the bioregional level. Working to established shared interests and a shared purpose, residents can collaborate with one another to create a more life-affirming path to our future.After a number of projects at the local and national levels, in September 2020, my associates and I launched San Juan Islands Community Network, sjicn.org, nonprofit subsidiary of Navigating Our Future, a 501 (c) (3) corporation. SJICN was an online solutions news channel spotlighting island community members and organizations building a more resilient and thriving San Juans. We completed the SJICN project in January, 2022 and are launching a new Salish Sea Bioregional program under the banner of Navigating Our Future. The Wholistic Health and Nutrition Institute was one of the first organizations to demystify all of the various wholistic health care disciplines and present them to people in an educational environment where they would be able to learn and practice them in their everyday lives. The goal was to get people more engaged in taking responsibility for their health instead of dealing with disease after the fact. I successfully launched the Institute in March of 1975 at an event at the Hall of Flowers, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, filling classes for the first 6 months of the Institute after its launch.
