In the summer of 1997 the CEO of NRT, the nation’s largest national real estate brokerage company recruited me for a new position, leading the largest of four geographic regions in the United States. In this position I held full accountability for four regional brokerage firms with 200 branch offices generating $50 billion in sales volume and $1.2 billion in revenues. My direct reports included four regional presidents and a regional CFO. My indirect reports included 10 regional managers, 10,000 sales agents, and 175 finance, marketing, training, relocation, legal, IT, HR, and purchasing employees.Under my leadership, my leadership team and I identified, acquired, and integrated more than a dozen strategic acquisitions ranging in size from $12 to $350 million in revenue, 3 to 112 offices and 110 to 5,000 agents. We met the challenge of blending different cultures, organizational structures, and operations into a cohesive whole.The region included the largest and second-largest residential brokerages in the US, Coldwell Banker Northern California with $550 million in revenues and Coldwell Banker Southern California with $500 million in revenue. My responsibilities included being the first executive to have accountability for competing brokerages in the same market operating as separate brands -- Coldwell Banker Northern California and Century 21 Contempo/Seville.My team quadrupled revenues from $250 million in 1997 to $1.2 billion in 2000 and delivered record profits in 1999 and 2000, generating 45% of the parent company’s brokerage profit.♦ Strategic Acquisitions ♦ Change Management ♦ Organizational Leadership

Subsequently I was assigned oversight of three other Coldwell Banker firms in Colorado, Washington, and Utah. Besides the three local Presidents, my reports included the CFO, EVP of sales, VP of relocation and new home sales and six regional managers as well as the directors of marketing, legal, facilities, purchasing, finance, training, and HR.During my tenure, I spearheaded growth from 17 to 42 offices, 1,200 to 3,500 agents, and to $5 billion in sales volume, helping the company become one of the largest in the US.
