Since 1994, I have provided professional brokerage services to residential buyers and sellers, as well as real estate investors in Spokane, Washington.

I assumed an ownership interest in Harlan Fairbanks Co., a concession supply distributor located in Seattle, WA in 1981. In the capacity of salesman and sales manager, I traveled widely throughout western Washington State, and was brought into contact with a wide variety of businesses: public schools, restaurants, ballparks, convenience stores, amusement parks. During that period, I had the pleasure of meeting and befriending some of the finest, smartest, most honorable people ever to have entered my life.

During my tenure at Columbia, I taught classes in Humanities and English Literature in three divisions of the university: Columbia College, The Graduate School, and The School of General Studies. Reading and talking about what I read was a constant source of pleasure, but the professional pressures of the position were oppressive to me, and so I left to pursue a career in business in Washington State.
