Larry Laws, Sr. is the Founder and President of First Home Alliance, Inc., a HUD-approved nonprofit housing counseling agency. He established the organization to improve financial literacy, homeownership opportunities, and quality of life among underserved low-to-moderate income and military veteran communities. His agency has helped thousands of individuals and families achieve and retain their dream of homeownership. Since its inception in 2002, First Home Alliance, Inc. has advised, advocated, and impacted the lives of 20,000+ renters, homebuyers, and homeowners. Mr. Laws was born in Camden, Arkansas. He joined the U.S. Army in 1980, at age 18, and while on active duty, he graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Troy University. Mr. Laws is a Gulf War Veteran, and throughout his career, he held numerous leadership positions before he retired from the U.S. Army in 1980 as a Master Sergeant. He has significant joint service and special operations experience. Mr. Laws served at the NATO Headquarters, Landsoutheast, in Izmir, Turkey, Operations Desert Shield, and Desert Storm. On his final tour in the Middle East, he served as Combat First Sergeant in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Operation Southern Watch. Mr. Laws concluded his uniformed service as the Senior Career Advisor, responsible for the Army’s 1700 Senior Noncommissioned Officer Telecommunication Supervisors at the Total Army Command. In addition to his role as President of First Home Alliance, Mr. Laws serves as Commander for American Legion Post 114, Manassas, Virginia, Member on the Board of Directors for Northern Virginia Chapter Veterans Association of Real Estate Professionals (VAREP), Member of the Board of Directors for People Incorporated in Virginia, Member of the Virginia Homeownership Advisory Council, and a Real Estate Investor.Please meet Larry Laws, The Lamplighter.
