Provided transportation planning resources for TDOT’s local partners through expanded outreach efforts that promoted, informed and encouraged collaborative community engagement, as well as the coordination of inter and inner agency partnerships. Provided support for the advancement of TDOT’s 25-Year Long Range Transportation Plan and other planning initiatives within the division. Promoted mobility through mulitmodal transportation and land use linkages in the state's, and its local partner's, decision making processes. Effectively managed the Community Planning section and provided oversight of the assigned regional office to support the Office of Community Transportation.

Provided training and guidance for three direct reports. Managed over one hundred federal and state funded local transportation projects in Region 3 of the state. Worked with local governments to develop and facilitate transportation projects. Acted as liaison between local governments, their consultants and the department’s various divisions including environmental, design, right-of-way, construction, and civil rights. Carefully researched project requests, ensuring system and funding information were disseminated to other TDOT divisions and personnel. Provided analysis of MPO/TPO transportation improvement programs (TIP). Administered guidance and reviewed of TIP adjustments and amendments.

Successfully organized annual Walk to School Day event with over 600 participants including students, parents, school staff, state and local officials. Provided outreach to school communities to identify safe walking and bicycling routes to 140 county elementary and middle schools. Developed programs and activities encouraging students in county to walk and bike to school. Measured and analyzed the changes in the numbers of children walking or biking to various target schools where outreach had taken place or other engineering or enforcement activities were implemented.

Assisted with the preparation of environmental studies throughout the states of Tennessee and Maryland. Performed numerous geographic information systems (GIS) duties, including mapping, that analyze U.S. census data for environmental studies and to develop alternatives for the planning of transit corridors, station areas, and parks/open spaces. Participated in the comprehensive inventory of Detroit’s 348 parks and 31 recreation centers.

Prepared materials for tax credit applications for two HOPE VI developments in Cincinnati’s West End neighborhood. Assisted in the location of 85 off-site housing units in the West End neighborhood of Cincinnati as part of the HOPE VI development.

Reviewed plans submitted for issuance of zoning certificate and presented to the township’s Zoning Commission. Maintained the department geographic information system (GIS).

Developed, marketed, and implemented an individual development account (IDA) savings program to service participants in inner-city Cincinnati. The program assisted participants by providing match money to their savings for a down payment on a home, to start a business, or for post-secondary education.
