Partner in the Workers’ Compensation practice group counseling and representing employers and insurance carriers before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board in all aspects of claims from acceptance/denial through appeal.Member of the Professional Employer Organizations (PEO) and Gig Economy team. As part of that team I counsel PEO clients on the requirements of the New York Professional Employer Act and coverage issues. In regards to the gig economy I work to secure dismissals of Workers’ Compensation claims filed by self-employed/freelance couriers and other independent contractors.

Represent clients before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board. Counsel employers of all sizes across numerous industries, guiding each matter from inception to resolution.

Represented claimants who have been injured at work through NYS Workers' Compensation. Pursued cases by conducting hearings, depositions, and trials on issues such as work-related accident, degree of disability, permanency, and labor market attachment. Drafted appeals for Board Panel review.

November 2014 to July 2017 (Narcotics Trials Bureau - Felony Trial ADA)Investigated felony cases by interviewing police officers and witness as well as collecting and reviewing evidence. Presented cases to the grand jury. Conducted hearings and trials as well as performed motion practice in Supreme Court. Engaged in alternative sentencing for select narcotics related cases that include conditional pleas and diversion programs.Supervised newer ADA's from the Intake/Criminal Court Bureau in both the Criminal Court Arraignments part as well as preparation of new arrests in the Intake Bureau. May 2014 to November 2014 (Narcotics Trials Bureau - Career Criminal Major Crimes Riding ADA)Was on call 24/7 for one week at a time as part of a four member rotation. Responded to requests from the police department to draft subpoenas, take-out orders, and search warrant applications, as well as supervised lineup identifications at precincts. Interviewed police officers and witnesses at precincts and prepared new arrests for arraignments. Supervised and conducted video interviews of suspects and defendants with police. Gathered information on major crimes that occur within Queens County prior to an arrest on behalf of the District Attorney. August 2012 to May 2014 (Criminal Court/Intake Bureau)Line Assistant in the Criminal Court/Intake Bureau. Represented the office on calendar and arraignments in criminal court. Conducted hearings and trials as well as performed motion practice. Investigated cases by interviewing police officers, witnesses, and reviewing evidence. Drafted complaints and notices on new arrests in order to prepare cases for criminal court arraignment.Completed 12 trials. Trial cases include robbery, assault, sale/possession of narcotics, grand larceny, DWI, trespass, and animal cruelty.

Worked under a practice order from the Appellate Division where I was assigned misdemeanor cases. Investigated cases and made plea offers with defense counsel. Appeared on the record during the daily calendar call. Conducted a Huntley/Dunaway/Refusal hearing for a DWI case.

Conducted research and drafted memoranda regarding the state of loitering for prostitution statutes. Drafted motions regarding sentencing under the persistent felony offender statue and the use of circumstantial evidence in criminal diversion of prescription cases. Second sat a Mapp hearing for a case involving an observation narcotics sale.

Conducted research and drafted decisions on motions to dismiss pursuant to Rule 12(b) on claims pertaining to the Fair Labor Standards Act and insufficient service of process. Observed sentencings, status conferences, and meetings with attorneys in the judge's chambers. Performed general administrative tasks.

Conducted research and drafted memoranda regarding drug and gun possession cases as well as suppression of witness testimony following the death of that witness. Prepared motions and search warrant applications in criminal cases involving organized crime. Observed proceedings involving white collar, organized, and sex crimes.

Interviewed police officers and witnesses in order to draft the complaint for the defendant's arraignment. Reviewed criminal histories and driving records of parties for plea bargaining and trial strategy. Prepared subpoenas for witnesses to appear and for medical, financial, and telephone records.
