Created a nonprofit to spread the use of the Poverty Stoplight from Fundacion Paraguaya to US organizations. The Stoplight is a tool and methodology that measures and motivates human thriving. Organizations such as United Way and the Salvation Army employ the Stoplight to accelerate their impact.

Lead researcher and author for the "Global State of Ultra-Poverty." Advocate to governments and international financial institutions for policies and programs that provide pathways out of poverty for those living in ultra-poverty.

Working to ensure that 175 million of the world's poorest families, especially the women of those families, are receiving credit for self-employment and other financial and business services by the end of 2015.2. Working to ensure that 100 million families rise above the US$1.25 a day threshold adjusted for purchasing power parity (PPP), between 1990 and 2015.

Designed and managed international training programs for over 300 microfinance practitioners, government leaders, donors and investors from over 100 countries. Initiated a new conference bringing together academic researchers, regulators and microfinance managers to develop a new paradigm for rural finance. Designed and organized a retreat for 30 top leaders in the microfinance industry.

Created the governance structure and central management hub for a global partnership of over 50 microfinance implementing and support organizations. Established quality standards, best practices and capacity building services. Set strategic direction to support growth in outreach while remaining focused on the core mission of transfor-mation in the lives of our clients and their communities. Led partner organizations through the transition from nongovernmental organi-ations to formal financial institutions that can accept savings deposits and leverage equity, creating 12 microfinance banks. Results included over 30% annual growth in clients served (from 100,000 to 1 million) and total loan portfolio (from $20 million to $300 million) while improving portfolio quality (from 11.6% arrears to 1.9%).
