I am an Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Texas at Austin, where I teach courses in conflict resolution, facilitation, leadership, and communication. I also am the faculty panel co-chair of the Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies certificate program and a member of the campuswide Faculty Council. I am a mediator, facilitator, and Principal of Public Participation Partners, a collaboration and conflict resolution firm that works on high-stakes projects in various sectors. With over 15 years of experience in facilitation, mediation, and public engagement, I help clients identify and connect with the people that lead to project success. I have a PhD in Conflict Analysis and Resolution and I am passionate about applying my academic knowledge and skills to real-world challenges. I am also a lecturer, author, podcast co-host, and board member of several organizations that promote civic life, dialogue, and democracy. I enjoy designing and teaching courses, writing books and articles, and sharing insights and best practices on resolving conflicts and fostering collaboration. My mission is to empower individuals and communities to participate in improving their own situations and the society at large.
