Sitting in the big chair, responsible for all manner of things for this tremendous little non-profit. The business end of the organization lies in specialized and targeted business development supports and services for start up and early stage technology and manufacturing companies here in the East Kootenay.In addition to the deliverables for the organization I was also at the helm on day to day operations, fundraising, reporting, board development and management, human resources, communications, project development and management, liaison and front man for our entrepreneurs and organization to our communities, every level of government, post secondary institutions and our financial and program supporters. Built and worked with an amazing group of people including 2 other critical staff, 7 board members and a team of up to (5) contractor/consultants.We did some damn fine work. 7 Canyons was a Tourism Development company, founded in 2004, located in Golden BC. The intention behind the business model was to exploit the economies of scale found in the management, marketing and finance of tourism operating companies. At the time opinion was generally of the view that Golden was going to emerge onto the destination tourism market place. We conceptualized, planned and launched two operating companies to contribute to the product offerings here in Golden. With several more products in the pipeline 7 Canyons was well on it's way.An amazing team of people came together to make this happen. A core team of 7 staff, an active advisory board of 4 and a dozen or more shareholders in the mix.
