As part of this effort, I created documentation standards for existing and new code such that we can generate documentation for our entire codebase, including the public API, using our custom YARD format. The Cappuccino application features real-time financial quotes, streaming messages to and from the StockTwits platform and Twitter, and sharing and display of media such as financial charts and video. Developed Sinatra application to resize and cache Twitter avatars to Redis backend. Developed web application to upload videos created in Flash video format to Amazon S3. Application would spin up an EC2 instance, encode the videos in 7 different formats to conform with the HTTP Live Streaming Protocol, then notify team members when the encoding finished. I wrote the server-side application in Ruby on Rails while the front-end used HTML5 and JavaScript. Developed web application in Ruby on Rails 3.0 to resize and transform images to badges for use on main web site. I used ImageMagick and RMagick to transform the images.
