I love excellence, whether it is in sports, business or art. Anybody can access excellence in some way shape or form. Seeing people do the impossible brings me tears of joy. Experiencing people breaking their boundaries and thereby expanding their reality, skills and universe is for me the gift of life. By far the best (and fastest) way to explore beyond the comfort zone is through play. Play sparks team collaboration, creativity and innovation. Play binds us, unites us and gives us the feeling we belong. Play transfers the worst enemies into friends. Play gives us the freedom we deserve. Play is being alive.Just as respect, love all other beautiful things in life play cannot be forced. The moment we use force it dies. The moment we demand respect or love they have lost all value. The moment we try to force play it is not play anymore. So the million dollar question is: How do we play? When baby animals feel safe they play. When children feel safe they play. When adults feel safe they play. When employees experience a safe workplace they will play. Because safety is subjective, creating a safe workplace is a lot harder than it sounds. What is labeled as safe by one team member is often labeled as dangerous by the other.
