Working with short term and extreme precipitation events. Data acquisition and quality control for improved Intensity-Duration-Frequency analysis of precipitation events. Spatial analysis of very fine gridded temperature and precipitation distribution in Norwegian counties using GIS. Management and participation in Regnbyge 3M project, which aims to nowcast, 90 minutes forecast of local heavy precipitation, to direct rain water to drains and storm culverts with free capacity. The project has relied on data from a fine gridded network of precipitation gauges in Oslo and Drammen and weather radar.

Achieved deal with every oil contractor working in Norwegian waters to supply marine meteorological data to MET for free use. Participation in ESURFMAR, European network of marine observers. Responsible for teaching manual, visual meteorological observers observing techniques, arranging courses and visiting on site. Control and assessment of manual precipitation measuring stations in terms of quality and meteorological representativeness. Daily follow up of all Norwegian manual observation stations. Assessment of geographical placement of new stations. Working with generally improving quality, data flow and reliability of all the stations in the network.

Responsible for setting up software and communications for the Uni's CTD. Testing in field. Ensure correct communication with all sensors and optimize for different users. Teaching users how to operate the instrument.
