I defended my PhD at EPFL in August 2024 :) Now I am working together with a friend on a startup: Timely is a spinoff from the EPFL Data Science Lab, and is funded by an InnoSuisse Grant. My education and work experience are very diverse: Bachelor and Master in Computational Engineering Science at RWTH Aachen University, with mathematics as a specialization during my Master. In addition to my studies, I always worked student jobs or tinkered with hobby projects. During my Bachelor's degree, I did an internship at GE Global Research in AI&healthcare. Then I joined ÉcurieAix, the Formula Student Team at RWTH. I was mainly responsible for computer vision and collision detection, but I also enjoyed helping with many other tasks that required a soldering iron rather than a notebook. During my Master's degree, I spent two semesters abroad at EPFL. I also used my AI experience a contracting machine learning engineer for Mevis, building computer vision models for healthcare. I loved the exchange semesters at EPFL, and continued there with a PhD. My research revolves around efficient Human Computer Interfaces and AI.Now, I am excited to follow up on my PhD research by creating a spinoff project and trying to bring a creative research idea to life. At the moment, I'm an employee of the EPFL Data Science Lab and work full-time on research and development for the startup.
