Lars LarssonDr Larsson is a physician with board certificates in Allergy, Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine. He has a broad clinical experience and served as Consultant at the department of Pulmonary Medicine, Hospital of Östersund Sweden. He defended his PhD thesis in 1995, and subsequently joined Astra as a Medical Adviser.He moved to a position as head of Medical Department Astra in 1996, working with all stages of clinical development of products in the respiratory and gastrointestinal disease areas. In 1999, he left the company for a position as VP and head of Medical & Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacia Diagnostics AB.He spent six years as Chief Medical Officer of a Swedish biotech companies (Biolipox and Resistentia) before moving to Switzerland and a position as Head clinical research, cough cold and allergy, Novartis Consumer health care.In 2007 he took up a position in AstraZeneca as Executive Medical Licensing Director in the Respiratory and Inflammation therapeutic area, responsible for clinical evaluation of externalisation opportunities. In 2013 joined Transcrip Prtners in UK as Senior Partner. He is also Associate Professor of Pulmonary Medicine at the University of Umeå, Sweden.Dr Larsson has worked in small start-up biotech companies as well as large pharma companies, in all stages of drug development of small molecules, biopharmaceuticals, large molecules and oligonucleotides, including inhaled delivery of large molecules. He has interacted with regulatory authorities in Europe, USA and Japan and worked closely with commercial colleagues to position novel treatments. He has also organised and participated in numerous ad boards and KOL meetings, and organised and spoken at company arranged symposia.As CMO in biotech companies, and more recently as a board member, he has participated in fund raising and IPO processes.
