Before retirement I have been working in the National Contingency Department in the Danish National Police. I have been working primarily with sports and events, including responsibility of the National Football Information Point with the tasks of gathering, processing and distributing information and intelligence in connection with international football matches across Europe. I was Danish representative in the Council of Europe, Standing Committee of the European Convention on Spectator Violence and Misbehavior at Sports Events and in Particular at Football Matches. From 2015 to 2019, I have was a member of the Bureau of the Standing Committee and have set the direction for the Committee. I was also Danish representative in Major Sports Events Expert Group under the Law Enforcement Working Party in EU. Moreover, I was member of the steering group for the EURO2020, Safety, Security and Service in Host City Copenhagen. I was also responsible for deployment of Danish police officers for short term specific tasks or events abroad. Before my transfer to the National Police, I was serving at Elsinore Police district, where I had the luck to be a member of a working group on community policing. We changed the structure of the police district to let the Community Police be the main element in the district. I had the great pleasure of serving in a large residential area with approximately 4,000 residents. In cooperation with the residents, the reported crime was reduced by 46% over a period of eight years. The time in the Community Police was the time in my police career that made the most sense. A Chief Inspector who gave us room to work was clearly a contributor to this.Before my time in the Community Police, I have served in various positions in the police district.I have served abroad as UN Civilian Police twice. First mission was UNPROFOR in 1992 in the former Yugoslavia.
