About Lars Schmidt
Lars Schmidt, geboren am 3. Januar 1973 beendete 1998 erfolgreich sein Studium der Forstwirtschaft und Umweltmanagement in Göttingen. Anschließend war er als Forstinspektoranwärter im gehobenen forsttechnischen Dienst (Landesbetrieb Hessenforst) in Kassel tätig. Zwischen 2001 und 2010 war Lars Schmidt Mitarbeiter im Vertrieb und Marketing und abschließend Leiter für Sonderprojekte bei Pollmeier Massivholz GmbH & Co.KG. Ab 2008 bereits war er intensiv bei Gründung und Aufbau des neuen Sägewerksverbandes mit Sitz in Berlin eingebunden. Ab 2007 übernahm Lars Schmidt zudem die Geschäfte der wald-wird-mobil.de gemeinnützige GmbH (Göttingen) und ist seit April 2015 in den Aufsichtsrat der Gesellschaft gewechselt. 2008 wurde er zunächst als Vizepräsident des Bundesverband der Säge- und Holzindustrie (Berlin, BSHD) ehrenamtlich aktiv und übernahm dann hauptamtlich die Leitung als geschäftsführender Vorstand. Seit der Fusion mit dem VDS (2013) ist er im DeSH als Hauptgeschäftsführer und Generalsekretär des Vorstands tätig.
