My thesis on "Biomass Particle Ignition in Mill Equipment" deals with prediction and prevention of fires in power plant mills, which are thought to originate from spontaneous ignition of pulverized biomass. The study includes both lab-scale experiments and mathematical modelling. It has resulted in several presentations at international scientific conferences and two peer-reviewed scientific articles. During my time at DTU, I have appreciated its open work environment, and enjoyed working together with colleagues from several different countries.

My responsibilities included setting up a 1MW combustion research facility, CFD-simulation of natural gas flames, as well as teaching activities and supervision of several students' B.Sc. and M.Sc. theses. The projects I was responsible for were carried out in close cooperation with industry.
