About Lars Torup

Coming from the Novo Nordisk Foundation, Lars joined the Lundbeck Foundation April 2018 where his main role is to develop and manage new grant programmes and initiatives focusing on neuroscience. Lars is responsible for the Lundbeck Foundation’s Professorship and Collaborative Project programmes as well as the Lundbeck Foundation’s Fellowship programme.Before moving into charitable foundations, Lars spent 16 years in R&D in the pharmaceutical industry, developing drugs for neurology and psychiatry. Having worked with drug discovery as well as clinical research, Lars has experience of the entire innovation process, from conception of an idea to commercialisation.Lars has an MSc in biochemistry and a PhD in neuropharmacology from the University of Copenhagen.
