Working on a mixture of firmware, software and characterisation of an application-specific SPAD-based image sensor with complex internal processing structures. Work has largely involved FPGA firmware development but has also included the creation of python code, PCB design work and analogue PCB component-level SPICE simulation. Characterisation-related lab work is currently being undertaken.Later in the project, PCBs were redesigned to improve power supply and signal integrity, improving high frequency performance of the system.

Designing and building a flash-LIDAR 3D vision system to be mounted on an agricultural drone. Developing Python software to control an Opal Kelly FPGA board as an interface to a custom SPAD sensor array. Goal is to create scene pointclouds from collected SPAD and IMU data, using a SLAM algorithm to stitch individual frame captures together.
