I founded Herman Construction Group, Inc. in 2009, and since then, we've grown to a $100M company. As President and CEO of a full-service prime contractor serving the federal government and the private sector, I'm passionate about building massively scalable systems to solve problems in the construction industry. I served as part of the US Navy Construction Battalion. Directly out of the military, I took a chance and started this company at 27, leaving my MBA program behind and betting on myself. With the support of my family and friends, I built a business specializing in complex projects. I took my limited resources, grit, and determination, to bring a fresh approach to the business. In 2017, I was the California Small Business Person of the Year and second national runner-up. Over time, my team and I engineered massively scalable systems to solve problems in construction and achieve operational efficiency. Together, our robust office support team outlined procedures to create a strong foundation and minimize our risk during massive growth. We equipped this exceptional team with the tools to support our field staff.Herman Construction moved from a small business classification to a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), to an SBA 8(a) participant, and finally exited as a large business. In March of 2019, we were acquired by Bristol Bay Native Corporation under the SES group construction business line. Today, with over 15 other companies, we are a member of Bristol Bay Construction Holdings LLC. We work in design-build and design-bid-build new construction and renovation projects across the U.S. with offices in the Southwest, Southeast, Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic.
