About Lars Kalthoff
I'm a Game Designer who wants to unite story and gameplay to deliver meaningful play experiences. During projects, I take on the roles of Game Designer, Narrative Designer, Level Designer, or Project Lead. I've worked within a diverse range of genres, including adventure games, virtual board and card games, platformer games, first-person shooters, alternate reality games (ARG), serious games, and augmented reality games (AR).Apart from making games, I'm passionate about learning and teaching. From 2016 to 2018, I ran a YouTube channel dedicated to programming tutorials for Unreal Engine 4. More recently, I've conducted seminars and workshops on Game Design, adaptation, and teaching. Some of my insights into storytelling and education are available on GameDeveloper.com as online articles. I'm currently working as a lecturer for Game Design, Game Development, Interactive Storytelling, and Game Studies at bib International College.I own a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Games from the Cologne Game Lab. My thesis provided an analysis of the ways in which suicide is depicted in video games.
