Engineer in Quality by doing and learning from working 30+ years within different “Quality roles”. Formally trained as Metrology technician, but accelerated by a strong learning drive into geometrical engineering of robust design, root cause analytics and Six Sigma Black Belt competences. For me, robust mechanical design equals all needed mechanical functions delivered, while ensuring the largest possible tolerances for manufacturing. I never just accept a given tolerance without first challenging its justification in relation to the mechanical function needed.High performer in deep diving projects, where I take the needed time to understand and do analyses before stepping back and produce fact based conclusions. In the end, I apply high-level filter of common sense and 80-20% accept of perfection versus implementation.Guiding stars are important for me to keep the needed direction. Getting there however, includes adding on a few planets to visit first on the never-ending journey towards perfection.I can work alone, but never truly succeed alone. I always find the competent colleagues and stakeholders whom I relentlessly influence to create collective understanding and team-players. I need to be a significant part of setting the direction, but don’t need to make the final decision as manager. However, when nobody else take the lead, I do! Manager or not!Strong communicator regardless of organizational level. Using a range of metaphors and out of the box thinking to ensure the message is conceived as intended, and to turn complicated topics into back bone understandings.Strong and fast adaptor of new IT systems, always finding ways to benefit from IT.My colleagues often notice my very positive mindset and strong sense of humor, bringing good atmosphere and high spirits to the working environment.
