I have 15+ years of experience working as a statistician and data automation specialist in the in vitro diagnostics (medical device) industry. During my time as a statistician, I've become particularly interested in creating new processes and tools to turn data into meaningful results quickly and repeatably. Too many companies and teams spend weeks of labor performing error-prone manual manipulation of spreadsheets to arrive at metrics that may not even be helpful. I get excited when I'm given an opportunity to take these inefficient processes and develop new ones. This enables people to get to answers faster and focus on work that's far more interesting and valuable than sorting through thousands of data rows.The automation projects I've worked on vary from creating scripts utilizing R and RMarkdown for automated analysis and reporting, and processing large datasets with Python in AWS using tools such as EMR, Spark, and Athena to aid in new product development. I've also had the privilege to mentor several interns through successful summer projects, and lead teams of statisticians working on deliverables for multiple projects.As a statistician, I've had experience developing statistical plans based on CLSI and other industry guidance. I have also had the opportunities to directly interact with the FDA.
