Robustness indicators and capacity models for railway networksThe purpose of my PhD-project is to survey and develop indicators of robust timetables. Furthermore, it is to develop a railway capacity model that can assess infrastructure capacity and robust utilisation of capacity in railway networks in the strategic planning phase. The project is part of the RobusRailS research project that seeks to improve robustness of railways with the development of quantitative methods.

At Atkins I've been drawing track and signalling plans using Microstation (and InRail) as well as creating GIS maps. Furthermore, I've been setting up infrastructure models and timetables for railway simulations in the microscopic simulation tool RailSys.
