• The masterclass consists of three distinct sessions: Underlying Theory, Design and The Wider Context, enabling the students to be pushed intellectually in the conventional sense, work in professional teams to win a.
• The masterclass was rated 'outstanding' by all in attendance at the latest event (August 2013).
• Designed and have conducted hundreds of mock interviews and group tutoring seminars across the country since October 2012.
• Developed support materials such as sample Cambridge Thinking Skills Assessment questions.
• Analysis of application data to produce tangible guidance for applicants.

London/Warwick

• 6 week residential teacher training course covering the basics of lesson planning, schemes of work, value added, classroom management and educational theory in the context of addressing educational disadvantage.
• The course culminated in a written assessment (with potential to contribute credit to a PGCE qualification) of the strength of relations between an inner city London academy and the local community, including.
• Research comprised lesson observations in a variety of London schools, interviewing members of said schools and the corresponding local communitites, teaching sample lessons and a review of current educational practice.
• The report was awarded the highest relevant grade from the Institute of Education in London.

• Student Access Officer working closely with the Cambridge Admissions Office during my studies to promote the university to bright pupils from under-represented backgrounds.
• Wrote the Cambridge University Student Union (CUSU) Alternative Prospectus entry on 'Engineering'.
• Part of the Cambridge University Engineering Department Admissions video.
• Represented the university at student conferences in Edinburgh, contributing to presentations to hundreds of school pupils on topics as diverse as student night life, academics and financing university.
• Liaised with pupils and parents on the university's behalf, answering any queries and concerns and generally promoting the university.
• Gave guided tours of the city as well as some of the Cambridge colleges with a view to demonstrating the university's commitment to egalitarianism and diversity.

• Research project consisted of investigating the application of ultrasonic sensors to the food industry for monitoring performance and efficiency.
• This involved researching and developing the theory, designing the experiment, establishing the state of the prior art using EPO search software, purchasing and constructing key equipment and analysis of data.

• Contributed to the activities of the PLG, a student-run society founded in 2000 which raises capital from finalists to support student-orientated college funds by working closely with the development office.
• Such activities included the organisation of a summer garden party and a black tie formal dinner for the leavers (approximately 200 people), as well as the establishing of '2012' bursaries worth £1,000 each.
• Wrote the sports entry for the commemorative menu at the PLG leavers' dinner.
• Visited local businesses to negotiate sponsorship deals.
• Managed to acquire 3 bottles of extremely rare wine from the college master's private collection to be raffled off at the dinner.

• Oversaw the establishment of the university men's third team as an official team; the collegiate team.
