Yarnima Power Station - Newman, Western Australia

Worked within the commissioning team and site planner to develop a multi-disciplined, systemisation of the power station to assist the construction team to prioritise the completion of systems to facilitate a systematic commissioning process and manage available resources.Planning for HRSG commissioning including detailed scope of works for chemical cleaning and steam blowing. Execution of HRSG commissioning plans as part of the team to prepare the HRSGs and steam system for steam blows.Developed an excel spreadsheet for importing DCS data and evaluating steam blow conditions for verification against steam turbine specifications.Preparation and execution of commissioning plans for balance of plant systems and assistance to steam turbine and gas turbine supplier with the commissioning of their equipment.Prepared complex mechanical isolation lists and assisted the Permit to Work office as a Lockbox Officer to lock out plant and equipment in order to facilitate a safe working situation. Nuon Magnum 1400MW IGCC Power Station Project - The Netherlands - HRSG Process and Equipment Engineer Detailed process engineering and equipment specification for 3 large Triple Pressure + Reheat, Vertical Heat Recovery Steam Generators including: Safety Valves, Silencers, Expansion Joints, Hoisting Equipment, Steam Blow Procedures, Overall Commissioning Procedures.Kerawalapitiya 300MW Combined Cycle Power Station - Sri Lanka - HRSG Technical Field Adviser Worked closely with the client on site during final stages of construction, commissioning and ongoing engineering support for 2 Mid Sized, Double Pressure, Vertical HRSGs fired on Heavy Fuel Oil. Commissioning activities included steam blows, process verification, practical operator training and commissioning modifications for systems including condensate, boiler feedwater pumps, economisers, steam systems, sootblowing systems, seal air, sampling systems. I was able to provide ongoing remote support to the client via DCS data extracts to identify and resolve operational issues to provide rapid feedback to the client on ways to improve their operation. Investigation and resolution of warranty issues and close out during scheduled plant shut outages.In addition, I was able to provide practical input and support to many NEM Energy projects around the world at various stages of implementation. As the leader of a small development team, I led the creation of a system to build project specific commissioning manuals in a consistent, time efficient manner incorporating my experience as a design engineer and the practicality of a site commissioning engineer to arrange and collate the documentation in a user friendly manner.

Huntly e3p 400MW Power Station Project 2004 to 2007. - HRSG Mechanical Design Engineer 2004-2005 Detailed process and equipment design including piping specification, safety valves, silencers, P&IDs and process design. - Construction Engineer / Site Planner 2005-2007 Served as a vital link between the design office and site construction and commissioning teams though an in depth understanding of the plant design and document control system I was able to provide timely solutions to issues as they arose on site.Condong Cogeneration Biomass Project 2007 to 2008 - Balance of Plant Mechanical Commissioning Engineer Working as part of a small commissioning team to commission the balance of plant systems including: Instrument Air, Raw Water, Demineralised Water Plant, Fire Water System, Cooling Water System, Condensate and Steam Systems and provide support to Siemens for the Steam Turbine commissioning.
